As part of its commitment to broadening access to education and skills development, NewBridge Training Institute (NTI) works in close partnership with its sister company, NewBridge Graduate Institute (NGI) – a registered and accredited private higher education institution under the Department of Higher Education and Training.
NGI was born out of necessity – a response to the pressing need for accessible, high-quality higher education in South Africa. With a focus on relevance, inclusivity, and academic excellence, NGI provides a wide range of full-time degrees, diplomas, and higher certificates across eight campuses nationwide:
ACCREDITATIONS AND REGULATIORY COMPLIANCE
All NGI qualifications are registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) through the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Depending on the type of qualification, they are accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE), the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), or the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA).
In addition, NGI is internationally accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC), an independent body that affirms NGI’s commitment to global benchmarks in academic and operational excellence.
NGI’s learning model emphasises small class sizes, personalised support, and innovative teaching practices—creating an environment that promotes deep understanding, critical thinking, and student success.
Through this partnership, NTI is able to extend its offering beyond skills development and training into the higher education space – managing bursary programmes that give deserving students access to NGI’s formal qualifications. These bursary programmes can be aligned with corporate B-BBEE strategies, particularly under the Skills Development element of the scorecard.
Companies can set their own criteria for bursary sponsorships, while NTI provides full administrative support – from student screening and onboarding to ensuring all compliance documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time for verification.
